Besides being the scientific name for coyote, Canis Latrans is the pen name of Curtis Wilbur. While considered solitary by nature, this particular coyote cohabitates with a wife and daughter in San Diego. When not writing, Wilbur spends his days providing for his pack by working as a software engineer. Wilbur is known worldwide as a founder of “Coyote Zen," a blend of Eastern and Native American spirituality.
While dabbling in short stories, novels, koans, and non-fictional essays, Wilbur’s main creative pallet is poetry. He claims to get most of his ideas while following his dog around the neighborhood at night, though he admits to writing “Las Vegas Rite” while commuting to work by train.
